Getting started
1. Install
Section titled “1. Install”Install LeakHunt from the Shopify App Store. Installing changes nothing on your storefront.
If you use PromoLock, start from the LeakHunt tab on the PromoLock dashboard instead: click Activate free and Shopify opens LeakHunt’s install page for you. The PromoLock guide has the details.
2. Activate your plan
Section titled “2. Activate your plan”On first open, LeakHunt asks you to pick a plan. Two options:
- Subscribe to Basic or Hunter. Your first subscription comes with a free trial, and you won’t be charged until it ends. Uninstalling ends it automatically.
- Activate free with PromoLock, if your store has an active PromoLock plan. LeakHunt confirms the plan with PromoLock directly, and the card then reads Included with PromoLock.
Which plan does what is in Plans & PromoLock.
3. Turn on Leak Radar
Section titled “3. Turn on Leak Radar”The dashboard opens on the Leak Radar card. Click Turn on Leak Radar. The first scan starts immediately and most finish within a few minutes; the page updates on its own, and you can close it and come back. After that, scans run on a schedule with nothing for you to remember.
When the scan is done you’ll see either a list of verified leaked codes or No leaked codes found, with a note of what was checked. Both are normal first results. What to do with a list is in Deal with a leaked code.
4. Switch on Extension Guard
Section titled “4. Switch on Extension Guard”The Extension Guard card reads Not added to your live theme yet until LeakHunt’s app embed is on in your theme. Click Add it in the theme editor: the editor opens with the embed already selected. Switch it on, save, and come back. LeakHunt notices, turns the guard on for you, and the Extension Guard switch appears on the card.
That’s the only theme step, and the guide covers it click by click.
5. Optional: alerts and whitelist
Section titled “5. Optional: alerts and whitelist”Under Settings:
- Email alerts (Hunter): add the addresses that should hear about new leaks. One email per scan that finds something new, and nothing otherwise.
- Whitelist: add your affiliate, partner and influencer codes ahead of time so they’re never reported as leaks or blocked by Extension Guard.
That’s the whole setup.
